Antur Cymru commissioned Etic Lab to research further impacts of the work delivered – Achieved in 18 months across Ceredigion, Powys, and Carmarthenshire.

It identified the importance of tailoring support to the realities of rural businesses. By providing place-based advisory services, emphasising personal development, and fostering digital and innovative capacities, even in “traditional” sectors, Antur can significantly boost the resilience and growth potential of rural enterprises. Antur’s locally founded approach using staff with in-depth local knowledge proved effective for engaging businesses
The research highlighted that the project engaged with:
- Very high levels of female-led businesses
- Businesses supported demonstrated substantially higher levels of innovative behaviour despite being outside traditional tech sectors
- Businesses supported were more rooted in their local community than counter factual groups
