The best day of the month. Payday. We all take for granted that on that particular day each month we can check our bank accounts safe in the knowledge that our salaries will be there ready to put a smile on our face. But how does the right amount, go into the right place, at the right time? It’s all thanks to what is known as Payroll. Antur Teifi has been providing an external payroll service on behalf of small to medium sized businesses since 2002.
It appears to be a year of milestones in Antur Teifi’s story this year. With Antur Teifi celebrating 35 years supporting the business community in West Wales, this year also saw Antur Teifi’s Trac Employment Services reach an important milestone by securing its 1000th placement since the awarding of the Work Programme contract in June 2011 in partnership with Rehab and Jobfit in Powys and Carmarthenshire. Liam Collins was employed by Bull Art Graphics in Ystradgynlais as part of the Wage Incentive Scheme and has since “become an asset to the company” according to the director, Jonathan Evans.

The economy of the Teifi Valley has been in the spotlight over the past year, in part due to the work of a Task and Finish Group set up by Edwina Hart, the Welsh Government Minister for Economy, Science and Transport. The aim was to consider how to encourage and support jobs and stimulate economic growth in the Valley via the establishment of a Local Growth Zone. The group submitted its recommendations to the Minister in November 2013.
