Antur Teifi is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Hewitt as our new Board Chair. He takes over from Bev Pold who served as Chair for three years.
Mr. Hewitt’s career path includes 20 years working for Royal Aerospace Establishment, standing as a candidate in the 1999 Assembly elections and subsequently representing the Association of Teachers & Lecturers in the Assembly and Welsh Government. He served as a non-executive director of the Ceredigion & Mid Wales NHS Trust for five and a half years until 2008 and has been a JP for over 13 years. He is a trustee of Cardigan Castle and is the current Treasurer of the Cadwgan Trust.
The new Chair takes over the role at the beginning of a milestone year for Antur Teifi which, in September 2019, celebrates 40 years supporting businesses both in its heartland of the Teifi Valley and across Mid and North Wales.
2019 will also be a milestone year for other businesses across the UK as the date for leaving the EU gets ever closer. As small to medium sized businesses are waiting to see what challenges will face them in the coming years the Board of Antur Teifi under its new Chair is confident that the experiences of the past 40 years will stand the organisation in good stead in its work of supporting businesses.
Mr. Hewitt noted
“It’s an honour and a privilege, as well as a great responsibility, to become Chair of the Board in Antur Teifi’s 40th year. Much has been achieved over the past 4 decades and I would particularly like to thank our retiring Managing Director, Dewi Williams, for his enormous contribution over the last 12 years. It will be a challenging time, for Antur, with a new Chair and a new Managing Director, but Antur’s strength is in its staff, and its reputation, and I’m sure that the organisation will enter its 5th decade with confidence and with the energy to face any challenges that the future may bring.
I would also like to thank the retiring Chair, Bev Pold, for her contribution over the years and for providing a steady hand on the tiller.”
