Welsh language business support services are set to get a boost over the coming months with the launch of a brand-new campaign targeting businesses and budding entrepreneurs across North-West Wales.
To kick off the new year, the Welsh Government’s Business Wales service is keen to extend its appeal by promoting its Welsh language workshops, drop-in sessions and bilingual helpline provision. With a fully-equipped bilingual service, Business Wales is aiming to improve the take-up of Welsh medium support and push its Welsh language services even further.
Business Wales’s North Wales Manager, Dafydd Evans, said:
“The campaign is part of our goal to encourage Welsh speakers to take advantage of our bilingual services and engage with Business Wales in Welsh when they access the programme.
“We have noticed that many who access our events and advice tend to do so in English. Many of them, however, are bilingual, so we want to make sure our customers and potential clients are fully aware that our services are available in Welsh as well as English and can communicate entirely through the medium of Welsh if they so wish.”
“Much of the campaign will be in Welsh only, targeting Welsh language media and social networks – this is the first time we have done this. The hope is that it will increase the take-up of our Welsh language services and events, giving our clients the chance to communicate with us in their first language.
“Business Wales has experienced advisers who speak Welsh and English, so our message is simple – you have a choice when you speak to us. We want to make sure that our advice is as accessible as possible in both languages.”
Businesses who are interested in signing up for sessions or workshops in Welsh are encouraged to get in touch with Business Wales via the website or to call the helpline on 03000 6 03000.
