On Thursday evening, 24th September four members of Antur Teifi’s staff took a trip to Aberystwyth to attend the inaugural Radio Ceredigion Local Hero Awards. The event was an opportunity to recognise and reward the great unsung heroes of the county.
The judging panel apparently had a tough task reading through the entries and an even tougher task deciding on the eventual winners of each category.
Antur Teifi had the honour of sponsoring the “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award which, by chance, was won by a young person from Llandysul. Mari Slaymaker owns a barber’s shop in Llandysul and runs the business whilst continuing with her part-time studies at the University of Wales Trinity Saint Davids studying for a PGCE Certificate. She is also planning to open another business – but she is keeping her cards close to her chest for the moment! A very worthy winner indeed.
