Carman Yates established Fusion in Cardigan back in 2017 with support received through Antur Cymru and Business Wales. The development saw a former closed Public House being turned into a modern, contemporary restaurant and bar, providing the best of Asian cuisine with a wide variety of home-cooked meals influenced by Hong Kong classic family recipes.
Further recipe additions included Korean, Thai and Japanese cuisine all prepared by the family who supports Ching Man Yates (known as Carman) a young female entrepreneur and mum, who decided to move to West Wales from Cardiff to establish the restaurant.
Business Wales support included:
- Menu design and layout.
- Pricing strategies.
- Support with legislation and food hygiene.
- Brand design support.
- Social media planning.
- Business planning.
Fusion (Cardigan) offers a wide range of local Welsh produce, bringing together a blend of international and local offering.
Although the team includes fluent Welsh speakers, Carman incorporated advice from the Welsh Language Commissioner to ensure the language was fully integrated in delivery, an important feature in the local community.
